- Works on important matters by delegating the urgent whenever possible
- Reviews financial statements and takes appropriate action

- Documents and reinforces an ethics platform
- Celebrates successes
the generation of corporate energy:
- Holds direct reports accountable using the discipline expected by supervisors
- Manages by process discipline rather than personal authority

- Has a succession plan for the organization that ties to a personal endgame
- Is a risk taker
- Is the “final” decision maker
- Empowers employees by establishing accountability
- Demands continuous improvement
- Accepts full responsibility for performance

- Tracks financial results, the market, industry, and key investors
