LEADERSHIP STRATEGY: USE RELATIONSHIP BUILDING TOOLS

ten relationship building tools
At a recent workshop, Patrick Connor was teaching us how to use visual memory keys to remember important items. First, he asked the group to imagine a progressive set of images. Subsequent testing revealed that all the participants found them surprisingly easy to recall. Next, he asked the group to juxtapose ten important interpersonal skill messages–one on each of the ten images. To the surprise of everyone, the ten interpersonal skill messages were equally well remembered. I walked away with two usable tools: 1. understanding how to remember important items 2. a system that reminds me how to develop stronger relationships. Give the following a try:
The process:
- Imagine each image without their assigned message
- Test to see if you have your memory has captured all ten images
- Add a message to each image
- test your recall of the relationship building tools
